3 Signs It's Time To See The Urologist

The urologist is a physician that specializes in all things that have to do with the urinary tract and the male reproductive system. There  may be a number of reasons why you need to see a urologist, but there are signs you should be paying attention to so that you catch an issue before it becomes a major problem for you. Read on for a few signs that you need to see a urologist.

1. Difficulty Urinating

If you are having a difficult time urinating, it may be time to see the urologist. If you cannot get a steady stream of urine, or you have the feeling that you have to go more frequently than normal, you should make an appointment with the urologist. Difficulty urinating could mean a few different things, including a bladder issue, a problem with your kidneys, or a problem with your urethra itself. A difficult time urinating can also occur when you have a swollen prostate. If you have a difficult time urinating, it's time to see a urologist.

2. Problems Keeping Or Getting An Erection

If you have a problem getting or keeping an erection, you should seek treatment from a urologist. If you have never had this issue before, and it's becoming a common problem for you, you should see the urologist, as it could be a cause related to your prostate, or some other issue in the urinary tract system. If medication isn't helping you get an erection either, it's definitely something you need to have looked into further.

3. Infertility

If you have issues with getting your partner pregnant, it may be related to your own reproductive system, and you should have testing done to see if there may be an issue on your end. You may not be producing sperm, or you could have an issue with releasing sperm. This is something a urologist can examine you for and run testing for you to see if this may be an issue that can be treated.

If you have any of these issues, or you have any other issues with your urinary tract, or with your reproductive system, you should talk to your physician to be referred to a urologist. You should seek treatment from a specialist that deals with these types of situations and can help find treatment for your health issues.
